McMurdo FastFind Return Link is the most advanced personal locator beacon in the leading brand’s range, engineered to deliver both rescue capability and vital reassurance in life-threatening situations. Suitable for use at sea or in remote countryside locations, it is ideal for sailors, hikers, climbers, field workers and anyone travelling beyond reliable mobile coverage.
At the heart of the FastFind Return Link is Galileo-powered Return Link Service (RLS) technology. When the beacon is activated, it sends a 406 MHz distress alert through the global, government-funded Cospas-Sarsat satellite network. Once your signal and position have been received by search and rescue authorities, a blue flashing LED clearly confirms that your alert has been acknowledged — an important reassurance that help is on the way.
To ensure rapid and precise positioning, the beacon features a dual GNSS receiver using both GPS and Galileo satellites. This improves location accuracy and reduces the time it takes for rescue coordination centres to determine your position. As search teams approach the area, the integrated 121.5 MHz homing signal allows them to pinpoint your exact location. A powerful attention light, including a Morse code SOS flash pattern, further enhances visibility in low light or poor conditions.
Compact, lightweight and built to be carried on your person, the FastFind Return Link uses a secure three-stage manual activation system with an anti-tamper protective cover. The Safe-Stow antenna design keeps the unit streamlined while ensuring quick deployment when needed. A versatile clip system supports attachment to belts, webbing straps and compatible PFDs, making it practical for both marine and land-based activities.
Engineered for demanding environments, the beacon operates in extreme temperatures down to -20°C and is waterproof to 10 metres. When used with the supplied buoyancy pouch, it will float, making it equally dependable on the water. Powered by a long-life lithium manganese battery, it offers over 24 hours of transmission time and a five-year battery life for dependable readiness.
Each unit is programmed with a unique identification number, enabling rescue authorities to quickly access registration details and coordinate the appropriate response. With no subscription fees required for satellite rescue services, the McMurdo FastFind Return Link provides global coverage, advanced positioning technology and the added confidence of return-link confirmation - wherever your adventure takes you, whether offshore or deep in the countryside.
